The Worldwide Knit in Public Day was started in 2002 by knitting enthusiasts in San Francisco, USA. Too often, knitting is a housebound activity, and while the Web has given knitters unprecedented opportunities to share and socialise, we could all use a little face time.
At the same time, knitting as a group in public lets us promote this awesome activity with others in the community.
